97 4Runner SR5 - Correct tire pressure?

I just purchased a 97 4Rynner SR5, auto, 3.4L, 4x4, and I need to replace 4 new P225/75R15 tires. The factory suggested psi is 29. But the shop is recommending 32 psi. Which one should I go with? Is Michelin Cross Terrain tire a good choice? I don't drive off-road often, just sometimes.

And the owner's manual suggested that, with A.D.D., we should drive in four-wheel drive for at least 10 miles each month to get front drive components lubricated. So, how do I know if my 4Runner is equipped with the A.D.D.? Is it a standard feature on all 4x4? The place I live only has pavements & freeways, though.

Another issue is that I had my 4Runner a major service before I took it home, buy the dealer forgot to top the transmission fluid after draining it. And I drove 75 miles back home and found that gearing is hesitated... The warning light was not ON though. Will this damage the transmission?

The engine sounds loud whenever I have a cold start, and it calms down after 30 seconds, is it normal for a 97 4Runner? Is this a standard warm-up procedure? Except some other rattling noise, however, my 4Runner is smooth when warm.

Any comments or suggestions? I don't know much about a 4x4 truck though. Thanks.

its the tires that req the tire pressure, not the truck. every tire is different. when i had street tires i ran them anywhere from 30-32 psi

i run my trxus MTs at 25.

Run it with higher pressure. My tires are rated max at 44psi and its at 39psi for the sake of fuel economy and less rolling resistance however doing so sacrifices a lil with ride comfort.

29 and 32 psi aren't really far enough apart that you'd notice any difference. Over the very long term you might get slightly better gas mileage with 32.

Yes, you have ADD, find a dirt road or parking lot and use the 4wd once in a while, every 2-3 months is probably OK. 4Runners look better dirty anyway.

The loud noise is most likely the fan clutch, they are filled with silicone fluid and the fan makes a lot of noise when cold. Nothing to worry about.

As for the tranny document it with the dealer and keep a close watch. A bit low is no problem but a lot low could be.

Thanks for all the comments.

Will it be a problem if previous owner had never engaged in 4x4 mode to lub the front-drive components?
