22re to 22r lets get some help
alright so here it is, ive been building toyotas since i was 14 and they have all been 22r carburated ive started with a frame and ended with a fully capable running truck/wheeler whatever, and its not half assed bull˟˟˟˟ but my problem now is im not working on a truck, im building a 1983 toyota celica with a 22re in it and im putting it threw a demo derby this thing has to be gutted and i want carb because it is completely simple and there is wayyy to much ˟˟˟˟ that can get hit on a 22re to make it not run period and i do know carb 22r's pretty well but i have no idea what it takes besides the obvious (intake, carb, mech fuel pump, etc.) to do the swap over. so my question is what do i need to do to wiring all that to make it run and go now before you guys go off talking about more hp and all that, i dont give a ˟˟˟˟ i just need a hand at gettin this thing running with a carb on it. to much ˟˟˟˟ can go wrong with efi when im building it just to wreck it. so any help would be greatly appreciated

The wiring shouldn't be to bad, I just swapped a carbed 302 in place of my 22re in my 4 runner. All I needed was 2 wires. One from the ignition switch to the coil, and one from the starter relay to the starter. I'd show you the plugs that I tapped into, but I don't know if they would be the same on a celica? Also there's a return fuel line that goes back to the gas tank that you don't need anymore, just plug it off otherwise it sucks air and you wont get any gas to the Carb.
That's funny, I was born in PA, most my family live in Sequim, lol.
