00 4RUNNER Suprise!!
I am tired of breaking stuff! My IFS does nothing for me anymore! So this is how I am moving on with my life...
In case you are wondering, the front is a custom Solid-Axle Industries dana 60 kingpin housing, and the rear is the good ole 14Bolt.

I got a super crazy craig's list deal. Lets just say for the price of the housing online, plus a front end kit and cover for that price! I can't wait for my tax refund because I will be throwing parts at this thing faster than Bill Clinton on a $5 hooker!

I'm interested...
Is this still going to be driven on the street? Haven't people had problems with doing SAS on these trucks with the ABS system, the speedo and the like?
Also, was that an FD RX-7 in the garage?

Yes this project will be driven on the street. This will stay my DD for at least another year. I have already taken provisions to fix the speedometer, I am getting a VSC from a 99 Tacoma and eliminating the ABS system. There are many threads about fixing this.
As far as the details, it will be on 37" KM2s. FROR front spring hanger, rear leaf conversion. ARB front and rear.
Yup that is a 12 second RX7 with a cammed LS1. My buddie definately has a problem!

Where the pics of the breakage on the ifs?
I highly doubt you have reached the limits of your ifs, i pound on mine and have yet to broke anything ifs related..... radiator, gas tank and rear diff related yep
Good luck with the swap, i suggest 5.38's for the diffs.

I have blew C/V joints, and now my rear axle is on its way. I also have a really loud trasnsmission at the moment aswell. I am not going to do the chop chop until I get my refund to get the axles finished and the SAS parts ordered. I will be ordering like mad here in a couple of weeks!
I was thinking 5.13 in the diffs for 37" tires. I also have the 3.4l v6.

Just curious, in what situations have you blown cv's? Whats up with your rear axle? Mine was gear install error that screwed up mine, but its all fixed now.
Even with the 3.4, i'd go with 5.38's. Its not going to be your DD for long, so and you will enjoy the extra crawl ratio on the trail.
If i was running your axle set up, i'd be in the 6's, prolly just 6.17. But when i swap its going to be an fj80 front and 5.29's.

I don't think that any 4runner came from the factory with an 8.4" rear diff. Only the t100's and older tundras, and the tacoma with the TRD package.
If you think that the front axle can handle 40" tires then be my guest to try it out, but I would not suggest it. If you do then when you get in a rut and have to reverse it to get out, be very nice to the skinny pedal because it would be a ring gear on that high pinion.

Plenty of people have run 40's on an fj80 front, well a hi pinion in reverse is just as strong as a low pinion going forward.
Even if you did break shafts or ring and pinion on an 80 axle just get longs and cryo'd r%p.
