Just a ? to go with a 80/100 h4 bulb in a 3rd gen do I need to upgrade the harness?

One way to tell is to put them in then measure the voltage at the back of the bulb:

And if you are seeing more than about a 1/2 volt drop from the battery, then you would benefit from upgrading the wiring harness.
