Lightbar Questions from a wiring newbie
I'm looking into putting a low pro lightbar on the top of my truck, and needed some input. The bar in question is a 40in Cree led lightbar and. Had some questions
Should I buy the wiring harness or is that a waste of money
Do I need to get a higher rated battery
What is a good way to mount it to my roof without drilling.
I have been to pirate, here and a couple of lightbar forums with no definite answer. I was wondering if my fellow yota lovers could point me in the right direction

It should have came with some sort of wiring harness if you bought it new.
Battery will be fine, if it's in good condition.
Seems like you would have to drill it to the roof, you might be able to find some good adhesive strips, that's a lot of money to be held on with glue IMO

No drill mounting- get a gutter mounted light bar like the old school Carr mounts or have one made from some tube. If you don't have a gutter i have Guys have used Thule or Yakima racks before. .cheap option see craigslist for used stuff.
Wiring kit- easiest way if you don't know much about Ohm's Law.
You will need a relay, fused circuit and a switch anyway.

Thanks for the input Jason and drop zone, much appreciated. I was also wondering if a lightbar would look ok of my truck. It's lifted but is stock besides the 33s, lift and fenderflare. Anyone good with photochop that could make me an image. I've tried but it never ends up looking good

No glare from light reflecting off mist/fog.
Also simplifies wiring; Needs shorter wires (= less voltage drops) and no need to drill holes to run wires.
More low-key for a daily-driver.

LED's are pretty low draw amp wise compared to Halogen lights, so you should have no problem running it off your current alternator and battery set up . Do you know how many amps your alt. is putting out . You can calculate how many amps your light bar will draw here :

If it were me , I'd mount something right there on either side of your license plate , right in that lower grill area .
X2 fusing, relaying, and switching whatever u go with ...
