Angry Digital dash question

Hey I have an 87 turbo 4runner and I have a question about the dash.. Well I put a new fuel pump in it a while ago and later figured it didnt need it. But the real question is this ok when I drive the fuel gauge shows the gas is going down wayyyy faster then it should... it could be FULL and I will drive it for OOO say 20 minutes and itll be under half. This is just normal driving in normal conditions. Any ideas why the fuel gauge is so eradic. Also sometimes when I put the brake on or there is a large draw on the battery the whole dash goes crazy and flickers and I will end up losing the tach and oil pressure which I dont enjoy.

Any help would be nice!

Riley

i have the same problem just with the gas though. Mine used to stay full for a long time, then just start dropping. Replaced the sending unit, and now it just reads empty the whole time. Im not sure if the electronic clusters had different sending units or not. Im pretty sure the clusters are known to go out.
