Horn Options

searched a little, found some info on the caddy horns, ford horns and such...but not what i'm looking for.

I want a horn that is LOUD, i have plans to put some train horns on my 4runner (detachable, so i can take em off when i go offroad) and a good size air tank in the back (also removable) but i want something smaller that i can put under the hood (or in the stock location) that is louder than a stock horn on any vehicle.

i see some horns at the local parts stores, but i don't know how loud they are?

the stock horn on my 4runner is a joke, it's louder than the one on my '86, but dang...

if there isn't anything thats worth the money, then i will probably just go with the F-150 horns, or the caddy horns, one of them was the same style as the toyota horns(switched ground i believe?)

heck if you have anykind of aftermarket horn set up, post them up! with a video preferably

Understandable, why don't you hook up the train horn to a hidden switch that way you can use it when you want. And still use your stock horns when you want.

my train horns will probably just be ran to a small valve that i'll mount somewhere around the shifters lol

i just want something that's LOTS louder than stock, but if there isn't anything out there (that's not CRAZY expensive...) then i'll just go with one of the other types of stock horns like the F-150 horn.

keep the horn you have and spend the money somewhere else if it bothers you that much, swap a 2001+ tacoma or 4runner horn in. they sound pretty normal compared to our beep beep.

I have a Harbor Freight air horn. The thing definitely sounded different than the stock one, but not as loud, if that's possible. I could hardly hear it over the engine noise. I took it off and put the stock road runner back on.
