Camper Shell Storage

I have a camper shell on my '91 pickup and want to take it off for a while but keep it in good shape. How do ya'll, with shells, store them?

I made a stand from the one on my daily driver. A pair of upright 2x4s in front and 2nd pair in back and a frame to hold them up. Kept it a few few feet off the ground. Or try this:

i get a friend to help lift the shell off, and set it on blocks of wood or brick. we set the blocks on the sides, right below the lip of the shell. no problem for short term, except the black widows in the summer like to start building nest after a while.
