Is 30x9.50 too small?

Hey everyone, I was going to buy 33x10.50 km2s with tax money but bills got in the way and my budget fell to less than $400. A friend offered to sell me 3 new 30x9.50 cooper stt for $200(would still have to buy 1). My question is if 30x9.50 will be/look too small on my truck? Or should I just save my money for the 33s? My truck is a 94 reg cab with a 2" body lift, shackles and after this weekend 1.5" ball joint spacers. Here's a few pics without bj spacers and with 235/75-15 tires.

im running the same size right now and there a good size if you do alot of daily driving but i wouldnt run any lift with them. some people run 31's with bj spacers and aal or shackles and it looks ok but add a body lift and you will look silly.

remember too if you...(A)want to run 33's you dont need a body lift so take them off and (B) you will need to regear to 4.88s to run your bigger tires.

if you dont have the money to get everything i would take the bl off run bj spacers and shackles and find some 31's off craigslist on the cheap and keep saving for 4.88s and 33x10.5 tires and do them at the same time. my .02 cents.

i think they would be way too small
take some time and shop craigslist
there is always tons of 31s and 33s for cheap

I ran 30x9.5s on my 86 with a 2" suspension lift for a good amount of miles (they were free), i think i would have went with 31x10.5's if i could do it again.

I run 30x9.5 Cooper ST's, on a 1-1.5" lift.
Theyd look silly with a big lift like what youre planning

Thanks for the input. I just got the truck put back together after a slow 3 year frame swap/resto. Planned on gears and tires, didn't work out! I was going to buy a 4runner last fall with 4.88s but the deal fell through so I dont know when I'll be able to re-gear. I can only afford tires once for this year and due to the 4.10 gears I was considering the 30x9.50s for the sake of wheelin this summer, until I can afford gears and 33s next year.

if anything sell the body lift and put it towards gears a tires. im pretty much in the same situation as you, im just going to wait and do it right.

I think they'd look too small for your truck if you ditch the BL than it would look ok. Here's what my 4runner looks like with 1.5inch BJ spacers and Cruiser coils in the rear with 31's.

They look "ok" to me, but i'd rather go with 32's or 33's for my rig, but since theres still alot of meat left on my current tires i'm gonna run em for a while longer.

If it were me, I'd run the 30s and hang on to the money. That being said, I don't do much other than the occasional class VI road here in NH. Most of my miles would be pavement, and I'd much rather ride on 30s until I put gears in it. I had a set of Mickey Thompson Bajas 30X9.50s back in 96, and they worked well for me.

Yes, the truck would look silly, but if I saw that truck in VT, I'd admire it. Small tires look silly, but I understand why people do it. Just tell everyone that you're going to get an inspection-for the next year.

You could always save just a little bit and once you hit around $400 or so, call up TreadWright and order a set of 31 Warden AT for around $84 a piece plus shipping. Ultimately, it is best to go with what you will be satisfied with. Try going to a tire store and tell them you would like to see what a 30 will look like compared to what you currently have. Take it outside and put the 30 where it covers the 235 and step back and look at it to see what you think. Especially if you are going up another 1.5". You will probably decide to save a little and go up to a little larger size. The 30 is just a little bit larger than the 235 you have.
