12.5" wide tires on a 13" wide rim
Is it safe? What's a good rule of thumb in relation to tire and rim width?
I read somewhere that you generally can do about 1.5" wider and 1.5" slimmer than the rim, regarding tire width.

Well, the tire width is measured at the widest point in the sidewall. So the actually bead width is probably about 2" narrower... I wouldn't recommend it. To be safe, most people have a rim that is at least 2" narrower than the said tire width.

you can do it but dont expect to air down while offroading or else tire is destroyed

i do not suggest this method at all!!!

Wow. That truck does look dumb...
But, if I bought them, I would probably end up putting 14 to 15" wide tires on. But those are costly and require massive clearance, so I guess I'll let this deal slide. But, If anyone wants them, they are posted on ebay. I'm not sure the item #, but if you type in "MUST SEE RIMS", letter for letter, they will pop up.
To shift gears slightly, a good ROT is 2" slimmer than your tires? I would guess for deflation purposes?
