Hmm...have you searched around the site a bit? Lot's of info on this.
The 22RE's aren't lacking in power very much when compared to the 3.0 V6. The V6 had headgasket issues. Depending on who you talk to, they are either no big deal, or a reason to never ever own one...
If you start working on your own vehicle, everything about the V6 is much more complicated than the 22R/E's.
My opinion is that for the extra power you get out of the 3.0, it's absolutely not worth the hassle it may cause you. Other people run them without issues and love them, so...

Lol. How is the 22re not lacking power compared to the 3vze? 116 hp at the crank vs 150? 22res get like 95-100 at the wheels and the 3vze gets like 120-130, maybe more. The 3vze just isn't as forgiving IMO, and you have to take care of it more than the 22re. Would be a good small v6 if it didn't have HG issues.

Dude im not really sure but are you asking if we think you should trade , If so is it just straight trade or money involved .
I would trade just for the xtra cab ,the 3.0 you can deal with I guess.

I had a '93 3.0, and I got up the local mountain pass at only about 5mph faster than I do now in my rebuilt '83 22R. And the 22R is peppier accelerating from a stop. That's my experience, anyway.
