Exclamation tire and wheel about ready to fall off- help

yesterday my truck started doing something wierd... everytime i push on the brakes my truck wobbled kinda viciously, so i parked at my girlfriends aunts house to see whats wrong... and my front driver side wheel is like this --->

[]===\ \ also whenever i turned right it was like the brakes were engaging themselves on just that tire... so something HAS to be broken/rubbing or whatnot.. its an 88 4runner IFS i have pictures but i cant get them to upload at the moment, what do you think?

So your saying the tire is cocked to the side? Could be an alignment issue, your a-arm coulda fallen off or broke, shock coulda broke off, etc.

wheel bearings, or your lug nuts are loose..

p.s check the lug nuts first.

i doubt your a arm is falling off that would more than likely cause a wreck, and your tire would have munched up in your fender... check your lug nuts then check your wheel bearing.

Lift the front end up on blocks and have a look at things and grab the tire at 6-12 o'clock and give it a good tug both ways. If a ball joint is going out, you'll be able to see movement there. Could also be a wheel bearing that worked loose or wore out. Also check 3-9 o'clock and feel for play there. Might be tie rod ends loose or worn. If play at both top-bottom and side-side, then it is likely the wheel bearings.

ok so i just backed up my truck and parked it with the wheels COMPLETELY straight, and when its straight the wheel doesnt lean AS badly, but when i turn left it just looks like its about ready to give up, when i turn right the brake engages on that tire... wtf?

yeah im gona jump on the wheel bearing train, check your balljoint also but as bad as your making it sound it really seems as though the wheel bearing is completely destroyed. lift up only that tire, and put a 2x4 under it and pry up, see if the tire moves up and down by itself, if so balljoint is gone. if the wheel bearing is out the whole thing will spin with a wobble to it.

ok also, depending on if it IS the bearings, how close was i to actually possibly losing a tire on the road... and also how much am i looking at having it fixed and how difficult is it to fix yourself?

looks like the tire was getting close to working its way off..

as of cost I'm not sure.. id just price the parts, then have a shop give you an estimate
