My Exahust smells rich

This 4Runner is new to me and Im not much of a mechanic but I know this exahust smells too strong. When I drive with the rear window down the smell backdrafts through that window and is almost too much to take. Also in the morning when its cold out it almost looks white...?
What would cause this and how do I start about corecting it?

The first thing you should do is a complete tune up, plugs, plug wires, cap and rotor, fuel filter and air filter. It would also be a good idea to replace the 02 sensor, use a Denso 02 sensor, that`s an OEM replacement. See what that does to help the problem and let us know.

I have done the plugs, wires, air filter all my fluids, brakes, tires, starter and other small stuff bringing it to 100%
I'll do the cap and rotor fuel filter and 02 sensor. I wanna keep this beauty forever.. :-)

check for exhaust leaks in front of the sensor first. could be something as simple as a fifteen dollar or less gasket letting air in and fooling your sensor into dumping more fuel. You wouldn't believe how many people get caught like that
