Any Ideas For A Front Bumper??

Hey,

Im totally new to all of this. I just figured out how to post... Sad, i know..

Well, my Uncle just sold me a 1997 4Runner SR5 for 3000$, which is nice, because its worth a lot more than that!

The only "problem" is the front bumper is screwed up, so Im just gonna replace it. But I sifted through the internet a lil bit, and cant really find anything decent or affordable. Im 16, so affordable=CHEAP. I have a job, but I dont wanna blow a thousand bucks on a front bumper, when I could get get somethin worth it.

Any cool ideas? Or Reccomendations?? Please!

Yah, Im in Advanced Metal Shop, I even won a couple of tournements. But thank god, my teacher is a idiot. Cuz were not allowed to weld "out of school" crap in the class. Its stupid. And my welder at home isn't good enough. I already know how to weld... But I cant do it anywhere haha.

No suggestions??

Well, you can always buy one from Marlin Crawler, and a slew
of other sites. There are a few really good, reputable sites
for Toyota off road stuff.
Try:
http://www.marlincrawler.com
http://www.wabfab.org.
http://www.trail-gear.com

There are others, but these seem to have become my favorite.

1st gen 4Runners are pretty prominent here, try the 'Search' function.

Haha yah I noticed. I just stay in the 3rd Gen thread. This sites pretty sweet. Wayy helpful. Especially to a kid like me.

Cool I bookmarked the sites, as soon as I get some money haha.

Oh, does anybody know if the Toyota Tacoma's 4 Gen have the same bumper dimensions as the 3rd Gen 4Runners?? Cuz on the Marlin Crawler website, they had some cool Taco bumpers, but idk if they would fit my 97 4Runner ???

I wish I could! But I need a new welder, and blah. My Dad wouldn't be into all of that. He talks the talk, but he won't weld the weld. I weld better than him, it would be hell trying to make my own bumper. He wants me to get a Smitybilt, but THEY DONT MAKE ONE! Which of course, according to him Im wrong and Hes right lol.

But I like yours haha

Yea im only 16 and my teachers all about the "RULES". Its gotta be OSCHA Approved or not in the shop! Teach wont let us do anything. In fact, our "project" is to make a Metal Rose?? HOW FAG IS THAT!? we do one mig weld, and plasma cut the rose petals, and bend a rod. and make a rose. Oh joy! Screw that...

I wish I could lol.

...Crolison: Yah, they just built a whole new shop the year before I got in high school. So everythings brand new. Too bad 90% of everyone in there is a stoner, so they break a lot of , or lose it. It wanks. And thers this one chick in my class, that might be related to Chewbacca. She benches 220!
Yah I think I might too... I can weld with everything except I havent tried TIG. We dont have one. I have won art contests and stuff with my welds. ITs cool.

...Scuba: I checked the links, but couldn't really find much for mine. Its not exactly an "OFF ROADER" year. With the IFS and stuff. Ah i love it so far. Gas mileage is like 17mpg, and its stock, but its the SR5 so stock isn't exactly bad. haha But ya thanks, So far I love this site. Now that I know how to post LOL.

Here's a few links

http://www.blazenoffroad.com/product...4&productId=58
http://4xinnovations.com/pages/guarding/bumpers.htm

I know a lot of the 3rd gen guys use Tacoma and Prado TJMs or ARBs (can't remember) but I think there's some modifications that need to be made

Yeah i went through the same thing in all my engineering classes. Basically me and a couple of my friends who actually knew what they were doing, and bunch of idiots. So me and my 3 friends in class would pair up for projects and get done in no time, and then have a bunch of free time waiting for everyone else to catch up.

And its kind of like that in college too.
