Smile 98 'Runner Lift Questions. (I've done my homework but I still have questions)

Ok so in my spare time I have been doing a lot of reading here and other places on the internet and have learned a ton! However I still have some questions for you more experienced and very helpful Yotatech-ers!
I am (hopefully) picking up a 1998 4Runner SR5 4x4 later this weekend! As excited as I am, I want to lift the truck as soon as possible.
I live in FL so it's pretty flat here lol, I don't plan on doing much 'real' wheeling, this is going to be my daily driver and I want it to stand out and be reliable, and when I do hit the soft stuff, I want it to be strong/functionable.
My budget is about $3k max. and I don't want to spend it all on suspension/wheels/tires. I want to add some 'tunes, lights, mild armor, etc lol.
My goal is to be able to run tires somewhere around 31"-33" on 16"-17" rims. I don't want to have to re-gear or anything. My questions are;
How durable are BJ spacers? I've read you don't want to go more than 1.5" because of the stress it causes, so what is another way to get a little more lift in the front?
The back seems simple, shackles, add-a leaf, Zuk mod and the like.
Also the shocks on it now are about 5 years old, the ride isn't bad at all and there is no sag, but if If I lift the truck (2"-3" like I am planning) I know I should get longer shocks, but will that add lift in and of itself?
I have read a fair amount on diff drop, sounds like that isn't necessary?
I have found kits that include front and rear coils for a total of 3"
http://www.toyteclifts.com/index.php...mart&Itemid=72
have any of you run this? How's the ride going to be? And is it less stressful on the IFS than BJ spacers?
I am not a huge fan of the gaps caused by body lifts, but a 1" BL isn't out of the question if I don't get the desired lift from the suspension.
Any insight is appricated! Sorry for the ramble.
Thanks in advance!

You need to do more homework.

BJ spacers will NOT work on a 98 4runner
The Zuk mod will NOT work on a 98 4runner
AAL & shackles will NOT work on a 98 4runner because they do not have leaf springs.

Sorry, a lot of the initial research I did was for a 1st gen that fell through. I found kits that had front spacers and I assumed they were BJ spacers. I should have realized that mine (fingers crossed) has rear coils because I read about the '99s being taller by like 1". So that narrows it down a lot for me, gotta stick with rear coils...are front coils the best way to go? and how about shocks?
Thanks for the assist!

^^this one^^ for the price. Get a diff drop also.

My freind has the Soran Steel 1.2 & it is awesome! That is what I would buy if it was me. A little more pricey though.

I actually looked your websight! what Im curious about is how much better the full coils are than running front spacers since they cost more. also what shocks are good for everyday driving on the road?
Thanks!

You don't want spacers, they pre-load your stock coils & make the ride very stiff.

consider a body lift. May give you all the lift you need with a lot less complications.
4crawler.com is extensive explanation and Toytec also sells them.

No...but when you call him to order I am sure he will tell you everything you need to know. This is his business. He wont steer you wrong. The kit they linked is perfect for you. My wife wont let me mess with the 99 though...cause she's like 4-11 and wouldnt be able to get in.
