HUH. anyways, you guys are ALOT quicker with the responces that the guys on the diesel forums. I am glad to be tryin to trade my Jeep for a Yota!

I like efi better. I always had problems with carbs.
Edit: They are both good engines. And they both will last 400k miles+ if you take care of them.

22R is carburetor and uses a manual fuel pump
22RE is fuel injected, uses four injectors...
The wiring is different on both:
I used my intake, exaust, off my 22RE (88 model) and put it on the block of the 22R (87 model)
