i've been trying to track some useful info about this issue, and couldnt find the response i was looking for. My '93 4 runner, 5sp. 3.0 recently has decided that cruise should not work. checked all the visible fuses, including, and not limited to: engine, brake, dome. while driving i push the cruise button, and the logo becomes illuminated. but when i try to set the cruise its emblem blinks slowly 5 times, then goes out. to illuminate the logo again, i have to shut engine off, then restart. thank in advance for any, and all usefull info that can be given.

My guess is vacuum leak. The cruise control unit is on the drivers fender and has 2 vacuum lines coming in - one of them might have slipped off

thanks for your input, upon directing my attention to the cruise control unit, I realized that I had forgotten to reconnect the (2) harnesses I had recently disconnected to wire some fog lights thru the firewall.
