You need a valvegrinder and related parts($5000) You need a decent set of heads to rebuild($1000)You need years of experience(priceless)

Depends on what kind of valvejob you're talking.

If he burnt a valve, then buy a valve, lap it in,and make sure the lash isn't too tight.A real valve job will cost you a $1000.$300 for new valves,$60 for the seals,$220 for all the gaskets,$5-10 each for shims asuming your valve grinder man can get the valve length pretty close. If he misses the length by far It'll cost you another valve. The shims only cover a small range.Anyway thats if you pull the heads yourself. The rest will be valvegrinder labor.A burnt valve shouldn't cost you a head though.

it may not be a burnt valve;it makes a clicking sound even when idling and the clicking gets louder when i get into higher RPMs,this makes the check engine light always be on and they said this was from the valves,so what does it sound like to you?
