V6 Third in a 4Cyl. axle

Can a V6 third be put in a 4 Cyl. axle? I was reading that a couple guys put 4Cyl. third in a V6 axle.

Thanks,
Mario

Yes.

V6 is 4 pinion, 4cyl is a 2 pinion. So, V6 is stronger. Everything else such as bolt patterns and axles are the same.

This is assuming 4WD to 4WD or IFS to IFS.

At least... I think that's right.

yes !

The thirds are interchangeable. The 'axles' are the same.

What about the ratios. I heard that a 4 cyl. has a 4.11 to the V6's 4.10. Is this true across the board with all the V6 thirds behind close, but not quite the same?

Well... ratios need to match for everything to work.

Scroll down here, I saw only 4.10's (no 4.11's):

It's got a ton of factory ratios from different vehicles. Should answer what was available with what and when.
