toyota pickup & trailer signals

when i have my trailer hooked up to my truck and turn the blinkers on, my voltage gauge goes up and down erratically. the blinkers on my truck will work fine, but the trailer blinkers wont even blink. the trailer in wired correctly, and i have a new taillight converter on it. any ideas what the problem is?

need a better ground most likely or wherever your ground is it might need to be grinded down a little bit so it has better contact.

, or your fuses and or relays need to be replaced. What year is your truck? sometimes old wires will not pass all the current

or... your alternator needs replaceing

Just to clear things up its normal for your volt guage to fluctuate when you have your blinkers on.
