Any tech that tells you that they've never seen one out of spec has never bothered to actually check...and Weasy is right, put the shims under you origional OEM shims then check clearances.
going off of what i remember i think the intake had .007"-0.009" of clearance and on the exhaust side had 0.009"-0.011" of clearance, but double chech the Toyota FSM for exact values.

you most likloy have to replace 70% of them...
These are cam grinds so the cams are smaller then stock by about .020-.030" and you got .015" shims so you have to makeup for that extra clearence

Ok guys a little update...
Im backlogged with these units Yes the next one wont be going out till after the new year as the cam grinder is going to do my last order for the year (3 5vz-fe cams ) and then closing down till Jan 4th. Just in the last 3 weeks the demand for these bad boys has gone pritty crazy People are seeing how damn worth it they are. EVEN toyota dealers!
feel free to continue firing me emails or pms and all answer them as fast as i can!

Ok just did a little review of some of the old posts and a question popped up... The new cam changes the duration of the valve cycle right? Why are we concerned with restoring the original valve clearance? is it a matter "interference"? would not a wider opening cam be better? or with the grind is the cam actually open less wide?
second I'm a little fuzzy on the need to remove the ECU when running a stage 1 "stand alone" set up. Does not the engine need the ECU to control the injectors and so forth? How would removing the ECU allow you to go to a sequential injection?
help weasy!

Not so!! (Damn you scared the bejesus out of me supra!! lol)
I have the stage 1 cams which btw ARE oem ECU compatible!
There will be Stage 1 to 4 for this engine 3 has been made 4 is in the air and 2 is in my cam grinders head
1 - what ill call "TOYOTA SHOULDA HAD THIS STOCK" TSHTS Cam
2 - a bit more pull higher up with some loss down low
3 - focusing 3000-6000rpm power range off-roaders beware
4 - Complete race cam 4500-6500rpm
Stage 1 and 2 work well with stock ecu #3 has caused problems so unless you can live with that you have to fix the problem by going either SMT7 and removing maf or plug and play ecu
Stage 4 wont work on stock ecu for sure!
Thanks guys for your interest keep askin away if you have any more!
