You measure the hight from the center of the HUB to the bottom of the fender. The FRONT fender is cut higher than the rear, when the 4runner sets perfectly level the front looks higher due to the larger fender opening.
I trust NAPA parts and used their springs. I also lowered my front t-bars to make the front fenders appear to be the same size as the rear and to give the 4runner rake like my 'cruiser had.

By measuring like you're suggesting you'll still have no idea if the body is really sitting level as you don't mention how much higher the front well is than the rear.
To see if the body is level, check it like I said, at the rocker (below the doors for those who don't know what that is).
Either put a level on the bottom of the body below the doors, or measure from the bottom of the body, below the doors (the rocker) at the front and rear (that is behind the front wheels and in front of the rear wheels) to the groudn (assuming that you're on level ground) and that'll tell you, for sure, if the body is level or not, regardless of how the wheel wells are cut.

Nope get an FSM for a 4runner and tell me that again. It should tell you the correct hight settings. You will be able to tell if the truck is level by each fender to hub measurment.

Without getting a FSM, asking someone to look it up for me, or searching for one on line (which those that are on line are guilty of copyright violation BTW), I can tell in about 30 seconds if the truck is level.
MEASURE FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE ROCKER, BEHIND THE FRONT WHEEL WELL, TO THE GROUND AND FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE ROCKER, IN FRONT OF THE REAR WHEEL WELL, TO THE GROUND, OR PUT A LEVEL ACROSS THE BOTTOM OF THE ROCKER.
Fred, that is assuming that the vehicle was level when it was stock. So without getting out the FSM, you don't know if you are back to stock or lifted or what. Being that you are such a stickler on advertised spring "lifts", I would think you would find that stuff out before you start bagging on everyone elses springs.
Alright i got my MOOG spring and installed them. Everything thing went smooth except getting the rear wheels off.
It looks pretty level to me and the ride is much better. Taking it out for the first ride i realized that i used to bottom out on almost every bump.

I have a question for this thread. In regards to the rear coils. I already have a 4 " Pro comp ifs and rear link lift . I just did a SAS and my rear springs are worn as hell. And Its sitting way high in front than rear. Let me remind you I already have a rear 4" lift on there. I'm thinking I have a good 2" sag in the rear. What coil and booster can I put in the rear to get level with the front SAS, TRAIL Gear 5" non hd leaf lift?? When I lift up the rear it measures that it needs another 4.5 "
