TVV--yes, you need it.

Happens to almost everyone who pulls the TB/intake without knowing this ahead of time~

It CAN be repaired, but it's a PITA. It's not cheap.

Thermal Vacuum Valve - it applies vacuum to the Fuel Vapor Canister to empty it when the engine is running and warm. It's about $65. Yes, you do need it.

Others have reported successfully repairing it; I tried, and failed. The reason it broke is that the plastic becomes crumbly over the years due to heat. In my case, there wasn't "enough" good plastic to glue to. If you want to try, search this forum. There are some very good write-ups.

Good luck!

Thanks for the help guys.

Wow is the fuel pulsation dampener expensive. Quoted ~$240 by the yota dealership here. Local parts stores I went to didn't know what it was.

And no, a "parts" store is never going to be able to help you. You could try a junk yard, but this is the kind of part that is not likely to age well.
