My holy 3.0 I guess this changes everything

Well I got the 3.0 pulled out of my 1992 truck and the dam thing has a huge whole in side of it. So I guess I wont be rebuilding this block. So now I either got to get me a short block or buy some wrecking yard engine. What a party foul.... What to do? whAT TO DO?

Wow, that's impressive. Did you lose oil pressure?

Yeah, doesn't look like that block's going to work out. Hazards of buying a used engine I guess.

The oil pressure remark was a joke. If he didn't lose oil pressure before the eruption, he surely had little after. Not a very good joke if nobody laughs and it has to be explained. Sorry.

After having a 3.0 in a 91, rebuilt, then a headgasket again later, I wouldn't put a 3.0 back in. (I put a diesel in mine) I'd definitely do a 3.4 swap before I spent any money on another 3.0

if you go diesel, you're basically a pioneer. your realistic swaps are 3.4, a GM motor, or if you care to try it out, you could do a 1uz.

i'm sure i'm leaving some easier ones out, but those are the one's i've deemed as do-able for myself.

Dude, if you can pull a motor you can do a 3.4 swap. The diesel option for you will be the hardest to get to pass emissions.

There is a new member on here, TMZ, who is doing the wiring harnesses now for a lot less than ORS offered them for. If you want to try the wiring yourself, it isn't that hard, mostly just time consuming.

I would love to do a 3.4 swap but my problem right now is I cant find any 3.4 in local wrecking yards. If I buy a 3.4 I will also need a tranny right. Plus I am also having hard time finding a 3.0 that is cheap enough to rebuild. The search continues

if you have a 5spd, you really don't need a new tranny.

in Rancho Cordova there are a few junkyards and one that specializes in Toyotas.
I'll try to find a link. He's on yotatech.
