If the pinstripe isnt paint, if its a sticker or something like that. 3m stripe off wheel will remove it.
Same with the crap left over on the chrome stuff.

i think the chrome siding looks perfect on a black or dark truck, but unsure why its wrong on white.
all i can suggest, is go mudding, and don't wash your truck for the easiest fix

Ah man, sorry, that sucks. I'm in the process of fixing the damage on my body from similar aftermarket panels. The previous owner pop riveted diamond plating on the side of my truck. The truck started to rust in between the panels as a result of trapping moisture, rocks, etc.
Here's what the truck looked like before I removed that junk:
And afterwards:
It was worth it to remove the plating even though I'm having to fill those holes with bondo hair (mixed with fiberglass). I hope your panels are only stuck on with tape!! As for the pinstripe, you can almost always use a heat gun and heat up the surface of the stripe, then slowly peel it off when it's a little bit warm. Then use some goo-gone to wipe up the residual residue. If that fails, use a plastic scraper (so it won't damage your paint) and remove what's left.

Ended up using a scraper and paint thinner on the adhesive only. Didnt hurt a thing but was a lot of work. Also got rid of the pin stripe. You can still kinda see where the panels were. I like it a lot more this way.

If you would have just put it in a field for around 6 years it would have started coming off all on it's own, part of the driver side on my 4runner came off that way so I'm sure it would have worked for you

At least you had it easy, my truck is covered in ugly blue house paint, my avatar picture makes it look 100x better than it really is. I am terrified of the day I strip it off and repaint.

Yeah, I guess you get what you pay for, at least my engine runs great despite some rather lax maintenance and the frame isn't rusted out, which is surprising for Canada.
