Here come the bearings....

So I just put my truck on the road about 150 miles ago. It has a bit of a valve tick (valves were lapped and adjusted)
So I decided to switch from 5-30 to 15-40. When I drained the oil I found metal flake in the oil. When I cut open The filter I found small copper flakes.

The truck makes no abnormal noises. Purrs like a kitten. Even with a stethascope on the side of the block.

I'm thinking main bearings. Any other ideas or things I should keep in mind before I throw bearings in it this weekend?

You could send an oil sample to Blackstone Labs for an analysis. They can tell you exactly what parts are wearing. Kinda takes out the guesswork. Good luck!
