Goofy thud or clunk.

There is this monster clunking thudding noise when I start going off from a stop light or sign and then goes away most of the time after I get up to speed, and when it's thudding and such my steering wheel starts jerking side to side when I'm on the accelerator. I'm not sure what's causing this and I've had the Relay Rod Recall done already. My neighbor says it's my power steering belt slipping but we gummed it up with some spray stuff and I don't think that's what it is. Does anyone know what this might be or have suggestions? I'ma be doing some work on it later in the week during spring break and all and I'm hoping to have it resolved then if not sooner.

Check all the ball-joints and steering components. If you think it's part of the PS, then take the belt off and see if it changes.

I'm not quite sure about the u joints, what do I check? And I'm replacing my front driveshafts and ball joints this week though, and I'm hoping that that's the problem.
