Poor mileage and uphill driving

I have a 1993 toyota 4runner v6 with the 3vze engine. it works and gets me from point a to b, however, when driving uphill (slightly not even that much) I pretty much have my foot all the way down, and the fastest I would get is 80-90km. Also, I get around 330-350km/ full tank (60 litres). Any ideas?

Well you clearly have some problems. Codes? Things not running correctly? AFM? TPS?

I have a 91 with the same setup and same problem. I kinda thought maybe they all run like that. It makes my metro fell like a rocket. I shorted the diag. thing and didnt get any codes so i gave up and shift around 4000 rpm. Kills mpg but my nerves are better for it.

i also get 330-350 km to a full tank. 13.5 mpg is good enough for me in town. but i dont have problems going up hills. on the hwy i can keep 100km on a long hill easily but when i want to accelerate i shift down to 4th.

Ok so actually last night a LOT of white smoke started to blow out from muffler, and engine when idled it sounded like it was going to die out, and coolant is missing. Definetly my head gasket is blown lol. I'm currently looking at ebay for engine rebuild kit. Found this one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...3AIT&viewitem=

It looks good?
Would I need something else?
I noticed that in the ad the person posted
Pistons with Piston Ring Set (We have Standard or Oversize .020" = .50mm)
Main Bearing Set (We have Standard or Oversizes: .010" = .25mm or .020" = .50mm)
Rod Bearing Set (We have Standard or Oversizes: .010" = .25mm or .020" = .50mm)
Thrust Washers (Standard only)
etc..
Wondering what is the difference between standard or oversizes, and would I need to worry about that?

hm, well if its just your headgasket and nothing else is wrong just replace the headgasket.

The engine rebuild it is it you want tor ebuild your engine, you take your parts/block to a machine shop where they shave metal off the parts.. .010thou or .020thou, .o30thou.. ect
