Yep, but only at 55 MPH which is near impossible to do anywhere in California these days. I get about 33 MPG at 65MPH and 32 MPG at 70 MPH.
If I can figure out how to scan and post my brochure from 1984, I'll scan you the last page which has the gas mileage specs.

It seems high, but I could believe it since it's a 2wd.
1991 22RE 4x4 regular cab pickup no a/c
manual tranny W56HD (from Marlin)
Cold air intake/cat back trd exhaust, 31s, 4.10 gears/ regular maintenance 140,000 miles
23mpg steady in summer, 21mpg steady in winter w/ mixed driving
26mpg best
19mpg worst
also, I live at 7200 ft. 11.25psi vs. 14.7 psi sea level if it makes any difference

I used to have a 1984 22R (carb) longbed pickup - got usually 22mpg with
31" tires and Mobil 1 everywhere. Long distance steady speed maybe 24-25mpg. Those were the good days. Now, if I get more than 19mpg in that V6 pig 4Runner, I am having a good week

1994 22re 2wd extra cab. Stock aside from camper shell, carpet kit, Bilsteins and add-a-leafs.
Average of seven fill-ups over eight months was 24.62 mpg, mixed highway, city, hills and flat.

1986 2WD SR5 X-Cab 22RE 5-speed w/3.58 diff and 205/70-14 All season tires:
Pure highway (Long trips) doing 60 to 65 mph get 32 to 36 mpg
Pure highway (Long trips) doing 70 to 75 mph get 29 to 31 mpg
Daily driving about 60 high way/ 40 city I get 24 to 26 mpg
The SR5 is more car like version of the truck. See profile pick

I've done it many many times in 37 years of driving it in my 2WD SR5. The reason must be the lighter weight, the 5-speed, and the fuel consumption freindly OEM 3.58 diff. My SR5 is more like a car than a truck.
