I've read through several mileage threads but they were not very concise or exclusive. I would like for people to post in this thread that have stock or near-stock 22RE trucks in a format similar to the following:

1992 22RE extended cab pickup
manual tranny
no mods
20.549 mpg- 1/2hwy, 1/2 town, almost no AC use

1987 toyota longbed 2wd 22r 5 speed - 19 to 21 - 0 to 60- 11.5 sec
1990 toyota xtracab 2wd 22re efi automatic - 18 to 20. 0 to 60 - 13.5 sec
1993 toyota xtracab 2wd 3.0 efi automatic - 20 to 23 - 0to 60 - 9.0 sec
all truck are totally stock.
i guess i had to flog the 22r trucks more to keep up with traffic.
aditionally 2003 ford ranger kingcab 4.0 4wd automatic - 13 to 16
i hope the ranger lasts as long as the payment book. exxon mobil sure likes my spouse's ranger. lousy range too, 190 to 250 miles on a tank.

I've got a 94 reg cab 4wd, and last fill up i averaged 19 mpg, 1/2 city 1/2 hwy.

ive got a '94 reg cab 2wd 22re pu.

depending on my driving habits for the week im between 18-24.

thats about half and half driving. lately its been more city driving and im stickin at about 20.4mpg. drivin nice. lol

edit, slightly bigger tires(28's) and k&n air filter. only mods. thus far. hehehe

1993 22re short bed standard cab. all stock. i cant do anything to get less than 20 miles to the gallon. even towing my golf cart up to the mountains, 20 mpg. 100% highway with half a load of snow, 25 mpg. i'm pretty happy with stacie, she's a good little truck. definetly aint the fastest girl at the track, but with gas prices the way they are, i am more concerned with miles to the 1/4 tank than 1/4 mile times.

I have an '89 2wd longbed pickup. 22RE and A43 auto.

I am getting ~21-24mpg depending on how the city/hiway miles work out. Hiway mileage suffers a lot if cruising at 75-80. Keep it at 65 and I can get close to 25mpg.

I drive 72 miles round trip to work Monday-Friday. It is about 1/2 stop-and-go traffic, and about 1/2 cruising @ 60MPH. So far this season I've been doing windows open, and A/C off.

I get 23-24 MPG regularly on 87 octane.
I've been having a lot of pinging recently, so I've run a couple tanks of 89 recently. Pinging is noticeably less, and I'm actually getting close to 25 MPG on the last two tanks.

Oh, and my '88 with a 5 speed, 36" Swampers, and stock 4.10 gears gets about 15 MPG, but I just stuck some 5.29s in it and that should help since I'll be able to use 4th and 5th more instead of standing on the gas in 3rd and 4th. .

I got better gas mileage with my 32s since I drive almost all highway everyday. once its moving, it rolling, Mines about 18 with a carb'd 22r 5 speed and 32s (stock gears) But thats also shaved head and exhuast along with removed emissions etc etc

stock except its an automatic. right now in warm spring using ac off and on, I am getting 20/21 in town 22/23 on highway. I have stock tires, which I had to order. 225 is stock instead of 235 which are more common. not mcuh different I guess, just a little narrower.

My 1988 4x4 Xcab w/31" tires, stock diff. gears, and manual trans. got 15.7 mpg before adding Downey header and air intake, 17.2 mpg afterwards (using 87 octane gas). That's 50:50 highway:surface streets, with 65mph on the freeway. I do have a bed topper and wood sleeping platform in the back to lug around though.

yes, the a/c will make your gas mileage suffer, to what degree that varies from truck to truck. i was told the compresssor takes 10-15 hp to run. i know on my truck you can really feel when the compressor comes on.

Was getting a solid 17-18 MPG.

Now that I put in a new throttle body, I have been getting 22-23 MPG.

Put in a SR5 dash last year. Been driving be the tach since. Most days I shift around 1750. Even around 1500 I try to keep the RPM around 2200-2300 while cruising.

One the highway, I try to keep it around 2800-2900.

Still need to replace the exhaust and the O2 sensor. The MAF has been messed with by the previous owner so I have no clue if it is factory or what.
