Not quite that simple. Stock EFI is designed to detect and defeat (fuel cut) an overboosted condition.

You can get 300hp out of them, but anything over about 150-160 is going to require aftermarket EFI and anything over 200 is going to be expensive.

Well, thats true. But, the aforementioned engine mods
would certainly help to aid your right foot

And, as far what Jay said, that is also true. But, we're
talking about making less reliable an engine that'll do
300k miles on average. So, its all relative.

There's a guy around here that runs a GT28r turbo, and Megasquirt ECU on a 22R-TE in a celica.

Makes 197whp, and around 240ft-lbs of torque.
