Has anyone had experience with this store? I am trying to order som SSV shocks and the order phone # does not seem to work. Have not heard back from email yet either. They are based in AZ so some of you AZ guys might have experience with them. Let me know.

Desert Rat is a group of some VERY tiny stores. I've been in the store near me maybe three times. They have virtually nothing in stock, because as I stated, they are TINY. They seem to have the most unknowledgable employees...these people probably were rejects from 4 Wheel Parts. And, when they actually have something, it is at least 30% more than any other place.
I live 1/2 mile from this store. And I would rather drive 25+ miles to buy something from a better retailer or wait a week for an online company to ship my items to me.

"...um....Toyota's weren't exactly designed to be lifted and taken off road...."
- A direct quote from one of their employees.
Please take any other option you have at getting the parts you need. From my experience, the guys that work there know nothing about the practical application of what they sell or what the term "fabrication" means. They are one of the large factors that made me decide to learn how to modify my truck myself.

Dirt Rat is the worst. I had no experience with shock lengths, so I relied on their knowledge. Sold me some for a lifted Chevy, and I was to ignorant to realize when I installed them. Also too trusting off their crack staff.
Silly Newb.
Needless to say, they didn't work, and I returned them for the right size later on. I learned a lot... like not to go to Desert Rat, and to understand more about my vehicle from boards like this before I bought other updgrades.
This story is from some time back, so I guess the moral is ask a lot of questions, and if someone seems clueless, ask another tech or better yet another shop.
