thanks for the suggestions i went down this morning and purchase a electric fan to run in front of the radiator to help with my cooling problem ive got to try to get a fanshroud in there to if possible and go from there ive tryed to leave the rear mount radiator to the last option , because being a 4runner its like having a 4x normal heater in the truck

Check into this

I put lincoln 4.6 V8 2speed fan in mine. 18" blade. Cools like a dream 2800 on low and 5500 on high. Its the same size just about as the toyota radiator. The fan can be mounted as a pusher or puller

More pics and descriptions on my page
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f88/...0/index10.html

Also your gonna want an alluminium radiator if you dont already have one. that alone will help so much with cooling

ye im running a performance alluminum radiator the problem i have is with air flow through the radiator for the bigblock they normally run 210 in astock chevy with a stock radiator my radiator is still smaller and mine driving is around 210-220 but when you stop it shoots up around 230-250-------------------and continues to climb but if you reve it it starts going back down real fast

Naw man I wasn't talking about you, looks like you actually DID do it right unlike the other guy I was takling about. So I guess with all the trouble you went through it was more than worth it right?

Hopefully I'll have my junk pretty well built in the next few years. Nothing like a V8 swap but it's still going to take a long time and cost a lot.

check and see if the T-stat has a nipple on it to allow air passage. I'm going off of experience here with 22r's but I can imagine the same problem plagueing any motor.

We found that most of the aftermarket T-stats we ran through our 22r's didnt have the nipple so we drilled on tiny hole and it incredibly takes care of the the overheating issue. Air gets trapped below (on a 22r) the T-stat so the T-stat doesnt get hot enough to open while the motor begins to overheat. some T-stats have a nipple, while others just a tiny hole.

something to try, doesnt hurt.

well sometimes i feel crazy dropin money like i have to in order to try to finish this build not kowin if this or that will work at the end sometimes it gets so irritating when it doesnt go your way you all probably know what im talkin about ,just knowin you still going to have something to do when that part is done for me the suspension still needs converted to coil over but it should be worth it at the end

I pulled both a jeep and a yota out of a river once in my old legacy

I took my clean 94 from bone stock to a machine so I know what ya mean

BTW the yota only got stuck in the river cause of the Heep
