Anyone had any experience with Motor Time?

http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/pts/914613041.html

I called and they do have a website

motortime.biz

but it's pretty much under construction. Their phone number is near the bottom of the ad.

It's either that place or 3000+ for a rebuild. Maybe you guys have some other suggestions for rebuilt motors? Any suggestions are appreciated!!!

I just have to make my decision asap.

Thanks!

Eh, just judging from their website I'd say no go. One of the things I've learned as a web designer and in college was to never even put up your site if it's "under construction." It just looks tacky and unprofessional. It's best to have no page then something with little or no information.

Who knows, the mechanics might be doing the website themselves and don't have the experience, or they could be hiring a low-quality web designer. I guess it's just hit and miss.

DO NOT < I repeat , DO NOT do business with these people.Customer bought motor from them for me to install in their T-100 . It consumes oil at a rate of 1 quart in 300 miles. The first people we spoke with said it was a bad pcv system , which was new and functioning properly. Then said to ask for Sam in tech , left several messages, then 2 weeks later were told we were calling wrong place,Sam worked 500 miles from there, and to call another number. Finally 2 more weeks till we get to talk to Sam,he says in,broken English, my motor good ,I build motor here , but not the heads , problem must be in heads ,since he no build them. But he tells us his motor is good, drive for 1month/3000 more miles,if still has problem, call him back then he hung up on us.Still trying to get warranty on motor.Motor time is just a broker of motors they buy to resell it seems. Will update on what the outcome is ,if anything or not.

try engineworld in emeryville, ca.
just bought a 3vze from them 3months ago and installed it myself.
a few small problems, but overall a good experience. Great customer service!
The 3vze is a complete rebuild and costs 1,250 plus 500 core. Comes with a 6month parts warranty (no labor)

I've used 2 of their 22re longblocks so far and have been satisfied with both. My DD uses no oil between 3000 mile changes and I avg 22 mpg. Lots of pics here of the prep and install of the last one. http://www.ruralinternetservices.com/86toyota

Angry

I wish I had read this thread before using motor time. They suck. A month longer then they said, over $1000 more than they said. My truck is spraying oil out the front and rear main seals. If their is anyone else who has had a similar problem with them please let me know. If they don't fix it I will have to take them to small claims court.

DO NOT USE MOTORTIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they are run by a guy named arley leghorn...had to shut down his other motor company to start this one...google him.

i got one of his engines and later found out about his deal after trying for over 3 months (he told me 10 days when he loaded my block directly onto his truck when dropping the new off) to get my deposit back. D-BAGS the whole time. when he dropped off my engine from the back of his truck it was sitting on the crank and it had dug into to the plywood it was sitting on from the 4 hour drive bouncing around. the cam grind was pretty bad too. I could go on about how bad the experience sucked...didnt get the refund until I threatened to call the better business...please dont buy from them. how long has he been in business and his website is still under construction???

there is a nissan Z forum that has a bunch of people who have said basically the same thing too.

NOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
