Check the classified section on here, or craigslist for a replacement, as far as i know 84-88 sunroofs from p/u trucks and 4runners should fit, also sunroofs from p/u trucks from 89-95 also fit, not second gen. 4runner sunroofs.

I know second gen wont. Ive read that double cab tacoma use exact same and thought maybe supra or celica had the same pop up.

84-95 Truck and 84-89 4Runner sunroofs are the same.

90+ 4Runners are not the same.

95.5+ Tacomas are similar in design, but they are NOT the same shape. You cannot use a Tacoma sunroof glass in your 88. There is also a difference between Double Cab and Extra Cab in the Tacomas. Not to mention how extremely rare they are, and even MORE rare in the double cabs.

I saw a thread either on this site or another where a guy put the sunroof from his '02 or so double cab into his '86ish pickup. Pictures and all. Im not a newbie to toyotas

So far ive had an 82 2wd 94 4runner SR5 95 taco 4wd ans now the 88 4runner SR5. I appreciate the help though.

Yeah but im hoping to avoid paying 300 bucks. And i like the thought of putting ten year old glass in rather than twenty five.

I understand that. tried a local glass replacement company?? see what they can get it for? just a thought. if you can get BRAND NEW glass for 300, it might be worth it

So im searching for that thread and cant find it but every double cab i see has a power sunroof which i would assume so maybe it was an extra cab that had the popup.

Just for the fun of it, why don't you just call your nearest toyota dealership and ask how much they want for a new one.

I was searching for the clips that connect the hinges to the air deflector. Part # 63227-17010 is the new version w/ steel reinforcement (this thread https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...-clips-267148/ ) . I can't guarantee that the sunroofs are the same size, but that part seemed to be used until early 2000s.

Might be worth getting the glass only part number, searching that part number, and seeing what all models/years that glass was used in. Toyotapartsoverstock.com has this feature when you click to view the part, it shows below all the models.
