87 22-RE Strange Starting Issue
Did my best to search.
I have a 1st gen 4R 22-RE that starts up cold or hot with no problems at all.
However, the engine struggles to start when truck has sat for at least 5 but fewer than 10 hours. It takes two or three cranks to get it going under these conditions, when sitting for at least five hours. Problem is wholly independent of outside temperature (summer or winter) or weather conditions (rain, snow, dry).
Any ideas? Thank you. H.

Hmmm......I do recall there being a service bulletin that addresses this issue. It had to with the cold start timing switch and something else. Hell......I was the one that posted about it, but I don't remember the details. I'll have to find it.
Later.
Later.
