3VZE cam bearing???

I have a cam that seized to the head in my V6. The FSM states that if the journals are damaged to replace the head. Has anyone heard of machining out the head to allow the use of a bearing? Even if this is possible would it weaken the bearing cap too much? Just trying to look at all my options before I proceed.

never heard of anyone doing that, i would think it would weaken it, u might talk to machine shop and see if any of them might be able to fill it in and re-bore it to the right size. just my .02 tho.

I'm just trying to find the most cost effective solution since I just had the heads redone with oversized valves. And the cams are custom as well. Work is getting in the way of me doing this too.
