Look up under your hood for an emissions sticker. Should be on the battery side.if it is still there out will show the pins you need to connect in the diagnostic box to get codes. This box is a small box that flips open located beside a bigger box behind the battery over the right tire. Jump the two pins start your engine. I if you have no codes you will get a continuous quick flash. If you have codes you will get flashes with pauses. count the flashes for ex. 02 sensor would flash 4 times pause then one time code 41. If it has more than one code it will pause 2 seconds then start a new code, then repeat.

Yesterday I got the exhaust leak fixed, hopefully it will help me with the excessive gas waste, we'll see.

As for the codes, I have had several early yotas and I never even thought about checking the codes, cause the check engine light was never on, so I figured why check codes, right?

I'll do that today and hope to not have any codes come on.

This is a great little truck, in very good shape, the only thing that's got me worried is the excess gas is using.

I would not want to expend a lot of money fixing the engine, the engine itself sounds great, so it would be a shame to tear it apart so I can get better gas mileage.

But anyway, we''ll see, said the blind men...
