22re to 22ret conversion?

i'm finally buying my 1st gen 4runner! it sports the 22re motor with auto tranny and i'm wondering if the turbo system from a 22ret will bolt up to that engine. if it can, what has to be done?

BTW 22RE and 22RTE motors have different compression ratios.

Spend some time on that website, and on here searching. this topic has been covered before

Werd... The RET is 7.5:1 The RE is like 9 or 9.?:1. 9.3:1?

With a good Turbo, you'll blow a stock c/r 22RE up. With a cheap crappy one, say the CT20, I don't think it'll be as brutal.

If you do this, what you want is the CT26 (bolts on to the RTE manifold) mod. That's the Turbo out of a 7MGTE. It has the same psi as the CT20 but more volume of air so if you intercool you won't lose as much running it through it. And the CT26 can be made to blow harder.

The CT20 for a lack of better words is a POS.

You need to convert to 5 speed. Those A340's bleed tons of power. The TC is Hydraulic and I've heard it somewhere b/c it's hydro, it acts like a 2nd torque converter. Get rid of the TC or tranny AND TC all together IMO.
