Getting a fuse box through a tiny, engine bay hole.

In order to fully remove my wiring harness FROM my old engine bay, I need to somehow disassemble this fuse box. It will not fit through the hole in the side of the truck. And I can't pull it out from the engine bay, because there is anotehr fuse panel inside the cab.

Do I HAVE to do this? Is there a "main connection" that maybe I'm missing that would fully split this harness into two pieces? Because until I find that miracle, I'm stuck removing every-single-wire from this damn fuse box. Talk to me fellas. Peace.

you'll need to pull the fuses , and fuse links out first .. black 80A is bolted in from undernieth , so watch out for that one . then what I use , is a small jewlers flat screw driver , and pull the pins/connectors out ..

HERES HOW
after the fuses are pulled out , you'll see the wire end in the fuse box . it is clipped in with a small plactic piece of the fuse box .. slide the small screw driver in and lift the plastic , and then pull the wire , some times 3 hands work best .. you'll see what I mean , just have a look .

good luck , and take your time .

I hope this gets to you before you start pulling any fuses or anything as that is not at all neccessary. First off the 80 amp fuse hooks to your positive battery cable so just unhook it from the starter and battery and there is no need to take it out of the fuse block. Then youll see the 2 connectors plugged into the top of the fuse block, unplug those and thats it. The fuse block comes out of the truck with the wiring for the headlights/turn signals etc. and there is another plug on the driver side close to the core support, unplug that and it all comes out in a big string of wires. Ive removed many harnessess from these trucks theres never a need to cut or take out fuses.

Oh my God!!! THankyou SO much! You're right! I went back to look at it and you were right! All of those wires running to the cab can just be unplugged in two areas! Thankyou thankyou thankyou!

You really just saved me a good two hours taking that apart, plus keeping track of all that crap. I feel so much better now, I think I'll go work on it.
