85 Skyjacker 5" kit with rear leafs
I have a 1991 double cab Hilux Pickup SFA. which uses identical suspension amd steering (except its rhd) to the 84/85 sfa pickup. I am currently running the $400 rough country 3" kit with rear leafs and its already sagging badly. I can't afford the TG weld on kit or the labor rates of installing it. So I was thinking of going with the 5" Skyjacker kit and either paying for crossover steering or a adjustable drop link. Does anyone have any first hand experience with this suspension setup with the crossover steering or with a drop drag? Any problems with install or any performance issues? Do the shims properly correct the Diff angle? I am aware it is going to flex and ride like crap. Thanks for any insight

I have this kit on my 85 LHD truck but I have a 3/8 spring pad spacer installed on my driver side to make the truck sit level and with this setup you will have to modify the steering arm "flip ball" to make a drop draglink work or leave the spacer out and you should be fine. Also take the shims out of the front packs. I ran mine and the steering was terrible so I took them out. They are there to correct the pinion angle but they screw up your caster angle. I think they were 4 degree shims that came on my skyjacker pack. I'm running 5" skyjacker front leafs with stock shackles and rear leafs with 1.5" lift shackles and I'm happy.
