85 22RE Engine Issue
Idles Fine, Starts great, Good Gas, New fuel filter, New Cap and Rotor, Plugs and wires. Fuel pump just cleaned. Entire ingition system checked for spark, all checked out.
As soon as you put it in Drive and try to accelerate it falls on its face like its not getting fuel or is in some sort of "limp" mode.
The AFM is fine and I adjusted it because it was running a little rich.
I'm thinking injector or TPS. More then likely TPS because the fuel pressure seems to be good but it has about 177k on the motor. So alot could be wrong

update. i flushed the fuel tank, lines, replaced the fuel filter, cleaned the rail and let some injector cleaner run through the injectors for several hours.
I also replaced the plugs, wires, cap and rotor.
I played around with the TPS sensor and when i put some pressure on the plug the idle changes so I have a small issue there but its not causing the overall problem.
I checked the entire ignition system, no issues. Good Spark, good resistance, igniter is fine
I took the AFM apart and noticed the truck was running a little rich. I re-adjusted the meter adjustment and leaned the truck out a bit. We will see how it runs today. If it still runs bad I'll keep searching. The only thing I havn't looked at would be the fuel pressure. I can't seem to find my gauges to check the regulator

Sounds like a clogged injector. When its cold the 5th is pumping gas in after it warms up the 4 cylinder injectors are only supplying the fuel. You can try injector cleaner but if one is clogged completely the cleaner may not get to the clog. You can swap in some you know work to see if its the case. performancewitch.com does an awesome job.

I didn't get a chance to test the TPS yesterday, I'll try today but the injectors are probably the culprit
I honestly think the truck had many problems and I've fixed a few. Just need to fix the last one

well the problem has been fixed. Turns out it was a variety of things and just took some tinkering to figure out. Taking apart the intake and cleaning it helped alot. Taking apart all the the sensor electrical clips and cleaning them and securing very well and using dialetric grease helped.
I retuned the AFM and adjusted and cleaned the TPS. I also replaced the plugs, wires, cap and rotor and tested the ignitor. Adjusting the throttle and idle really helped the most..
The actual problem stopping me from driving turned out to be the auto transmission harness not connected or wired properly. Same with the kickdown cable. The transmisison was going from 1st to 4th and stuck in overdrive which was screwing everything up
So, I manually shift with the cable now and it runs and drives fine.. Probably better then it did 5 or even 10 years ago. It's got some good power now

yea I didn't realize the transmission could cause the problems it did. I could have sworn it was all engine. Some of it was but it was mostly the transmisison.
All the more reason for me to go to a 5-speed with Dual Cases
