22r timing issue

I need a little help on my 84 22r. I was checking my timing today with a timing light and found it was set at 0 degrees on the timing mark tab. So I loosened the distributor and there is no more adjustment on the distibrutor to get it to 5 degrees. I'm wondering if you can just pull the distibrutor out and move it back one tooth and try agin? Or is there something else I need to try? Any help will be grately appreciated.

are you disconnecting your vacuum advance and plugging that up when you adjust your timing? and the spec for the 22r is 0 deg. tdc at max 950rpm anyways with the vac advance unplugged

Yes both vacuum lines disconnected and plugged. The sticker under hood says 5 deg. before tdc.

hmm idk, it said 0 deg in my Toyota service manual, but yeah i would just stick with the 5btdc, an yes you can pull the distributor out and spin it one tooth, it can be sorta tricky i can never get it right it takes me like 4 trys but i recommend taking off the cap and watch how far you spin the rotor button
