Carnage blocked!
Went up lefthand and found 10+ trees blown down on the trail! It's pretty much impassable. You can still go left up to LH but not straight to carnage, although, a couple of trucks have taken the grass path I,ll get pics up soon.

Not surprised after the winds we had last night. My weekend plans have changed from biking and shooting to limb cutting and fence repair. Gusts near 70 mph right by my house, sustained winds (usually a 5 minute average) of that much over a couple of mountain passes, radar readings of 142 mph 2000ft over Louisville.
Check with the ranger station in Boulder to see if they can get anyone up there before the 'Commando Cutting' starts.
At least there wasn't a bulldozer involved this time.

Oh crap.......!!!!!!!!!!!!
What the heck is Ric going to do???
J/K Ric, I enjoy your pics a lot... but I think even you'd have to admit that this trail should just be renamed "CarnRic Canyon" at this point.
Hope the trail clearing isn't too difficult. Does look like a lot of work. Must have been a serious windstorm indeed.

2 weeks ago I came home from a run at Spring Creek with Issac, Corey, and Matt. I find the nice tree in our patio area has completely snapped at the base of the trunk. The whole tree was resting on the roof of the townhouse. Damn wind. Called emergency maintenance, they cut the rest of it down the next day. But now there's a tree sitting on the grassy hill outside the front door, wonder why they never took it away or multched it...
Not to jump off topic, but yeah...the wind has been nasty the last few weeks.
