New Front Speakers For a 2nd Gen.?
Hello, I think it is time for some new front speakers for my 2nd gen. The fronts are 4".
I was looking at:
Apline SPS-100A
Infinity Reference 4002i
Infinity Kappa 42.5i
I wont be powering these with a amp for a little while but will be eventually.
I am pretty sure that all of these are within my budget of $120, and I can get them at my local stereo shop. Are there any others that I should look at and which of these should I go with?
Thanks

I'm not sure the model number, but I have Alpines up front that bolted right in. I have them connected to a 180watt Kenwood cd player. The sound is much crisper than the stock speakers. Only "complaint" is not much base to them, think that's a limitation of such a small speaker.

914Runner- I have the Kappas in mine, they sound pretty good and are not powered by a seperate amp. The left one takes a bit of fanagling to get in but it will fit.
Chem- In refrence to replacing the rear tweeters on the ceiling. There should be a panel with the cargo light on it. That just snaps off(pulls down) and you can access the tweeters. As for the front speaker sizes, they are 4 inchers.

I used to run 2 alpine sps1029 4" coaxials off of a little RF 100G2 up front in my second gen.
Then one day I got tired of not having bass upfront/no sound stage/no depth and began constructing my kickpanels....
Now I have a set of Orion Cobalt Braxials in my custom kickpanels. I LOVE THEM. The kicks were EASY to construct. Just made a wooden baffle for the speakers anchored to the oem kickpanels, then stretched fleece over the baffle and oem kick panel then glassed. Then glassed again and sanded then glassed again to smooth it out. Then sanded and then bondoed.... Then i went nuts filling in the tiny arse holes... Eventually painting them.
Ive done a bit of other work too...
