wheeling necessities

What are the things that yall consider absolutely necessary to have when out wheeling? what are things you wouldnt be caught without? im just asking so I can start building up my supply since im new to wheelin. thanks!

As said above and:

Pull strap
Jack
Blocks of wood
spare tire in an accessible place (just in case you are in need of it and are stuck in mud, or something along those lines)
Jumper cables (never leave home without them)
Military shovel
Screw drivers
Hammer (or a golf club)
Fire Extinguisher
Cell phone and a cell phone charger
first aid kit
extra fluids (antifreeze, washer fluid, oil, power steering, brake, etc.)
and always, bring a friend along to distibute weight evenly if you are a fat ass like myself

6' tow strap
12' tow strap
12' tow rope, 2 3/4" shackles braided to ends
3 3/4" shackles
saftey seal tire kit
full size spare
jumper cables
axe
shovel
chain saw
fire ext
tire chains
craftsman tool kit
engine oil
coolant
windshield washer fluid
engine belts
come-a-long
ratchet strap (to reseat beads)


probally some more,,,i'll edit as I remember

lol yes, thats a given, i was just wondering in terms of physical things. straps seem to be a very good investment.

as far as a come-a-long goes, is it a normal chain link fence one or a more heavy duty one?

all of the above and a sleeping bag maybe a tent and some food and water and a flashlight and extra batteries

I just take a 4 ton one. I have a winch so its just for RARE instance...

common sence....that will keep most people at home...espically if its a boys weekend out

can anyone chime in with a decent estimate of how much each things (or any of the things) cost? im looking to get some tow straps and a come-a-long as some of the very first things I get...

a high lift is nice (as long as you repect its hidden agenda......which is your domise)

I never liked using comealongs, as it is you are testing the outer limits of its capacity, and then to make it worst you are forced to be directly in the path of the cable because of the short little handle. But ive never broke one.

I would suggest a subscription to a good 4x4 magazine of your choice as this topic is covered in almost every subscription I get at least once a year in some form or fashion.

Depending on where you live you find find them at a decent price. Tacoma Screw, in the NW, has them a lot cheaper than offroad stores. It beacuse they are used for work not play. But it seems that, shipping aside, everything is cheaper online.
