Total Chaos/Donahoe

Total Chaos/Donahoe
Hi, I am about to buy a new suspension for my 97 4Runner 4x4. In the front I am goign to run Total Chaos upper control arms and Donahoe coils. In the rear I was thinking of using an OME setup. I was going to get the HD coils with the soft valve shocks. Does anyone run or reccomend this setup. I dont have a lot of weight in the rear, just the factory bumper and tow hitch. I want a rear suspension that will perform well offroad but not be so stiff that it gives me a headache when i go over a bump on road. I am unsure whether the HD coils will overpower the soft valve shocks. Any reccomendations are appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

i would suggest the medium rear coils (890) with the firmer shocks (N86), you can expect about 2.75" from this after all the settling. youre front setup sounds nice.

i run the med ome coils and shocks in the rear. w/ the stock bumper and tow hitch, they are still pretty firm but not so much that it gives you a headache. i don't normally load up the back, but i can tell you that if you pile 9 people into the thing and drive down to tijuana like i did the other week , the medium shocks, springs handle it pretty well.

We have OME HD coils and medium shocks on our 3rd. gen 4Runner with a custom front suspension setup that mimics what you plan to do very closely. I have run trails in Baja at high speed and driven countless thousands of city/highway miles with this setup over the past two years. The ride is perfect, it compliments the front end very nice and is never too stiff. Even loaded down the rear end barely sags at all.
