Suspension lift kit

Hi i am looking at installing a 4'' suspension lift from rough country on my '88 4X4 pickup w/ 22RE engine (xtra cab)... I already know that i am going to need new gears My question is ... do you need gears both front and rear ?? if so what ratio will i need and where will a good place be to get them i am planning on putting 33's on my 15X8 rims any other input would be greatly appreciated

yes you are going to want to regear both the front and rear with 488s and try randys ring and pinion

Another question i have is i am not sure if i have an independant front suspension or not, how can i tell?

solid axle was 79-85
IFS was 86-95
so if you have an 88 you have IFS

you have the toyota 8in. in the rear..and the 7.5in. in the front

do a search on lifts, most people run a cheaper lift (bj spacers/torsions) and save for a SAS (or long travel) if you going to do any 4 wheeling. IMO the 4" lift kit is a waste of money.
