I want to get a yota and lift it, I will get a straight axle. If I get custom spring pack how high of a lift can i get without changing out drive shafts?

3"-4" after that your front driveline will start separating

any lift over an inch or two will suck to drive unless you get a drop drag link or(better idea) change to crossover steering.

Depends on a lot of factors, in my opinion. Are you planning to move the axle forward? Are you planning to keep the stock steering? As Kyle mentioned, this is something important to consider. Are you planning on wheeling, or just DD'ing? I guess that's not a "lot" of factors...

My 85 4Runner had 3 inches of lift w/ the stock front shaft. I also move the axle forward 1.5 inches. The shaft pulled apart when the front tires caught a rock while moving backward. I have many friends running 3" lift w/ no problems.

Why are you considering a custom pack - I assume that means Alcan, Deaver, national?
