My 91 4Runner still has the stock springs and is sagging. 99% of the time, the 4Runner is used unloaded, so I'd prefer a very soft rear spring. I love the spring rate of the stock springs, and have considered just adding 2" spacers from Roger Brown. OME doesn't have a lite duty spring which I'd prefer, but they do have a med duty. How much stiffer is the OME med duty spring VS stock? I've called several shops and they don't know. Anyone have these springs?

I'm very interested to hear any answers ya get. I'm in the same boat as you. The spacers are almost cheap enough to give them a try first then if they dont work out I'll go for the OME coils. good luck

That's what I have in mind, but I'd sure like to hear from someone who runs the OME springs. Tomorrow I plan to call Wheelers Off Road, who sells OME springs. Hopefully they know something about how these springs perform. I'll report back.

2+2=4Runner

I ordered the OME 2" kit for my 4Runner, havent gotten it yet. I got the HD kit, figured it would be better for a trailer and loading up the back with stuff. Cant wait to get it in! I have always heard very good reviews about OME, expensive, but you get what you pay for. I have always said...what you dont pay for in quality, you will pay for in quantity! I will get back to you guys once I have everything installed!

Thought I'd post an update.
I bought 2" spacers from Suspension Connection, who sells through Ebay. Their spacers are machined aluminum and look great, and they have them for 2nd gen 4Runners...or so they thought. Unfortunately, the spacers are 6" OD diameter, and my springs are 6 7/16" OD. So, no go! I called and they mention something about different models having different size springs, but I say bs. They were cool about returning them and said they'd pay the return shipping, and pay for the cost of replacement spacers from another company if I bought them locally. Not sure if that includes buying online....we shall see. I'll report back when/ if I actually get the refunds.

My next choice was from Roger Brown (4Crawler) who has 2" spacers in polyurethane. I received those spacers promptly, and they fit perfect. The customer service I received from Roger is top notch. I highly recommend doing biz with him. We'll see how the poly spacers work out in the long run, but in a couple weeks I'm running the Mojave Road so that should be a good test. Yesterday I ran around town and the difference was night and day. My 4Runner was hitting the rear bump stops all the time, and now the ride is awesome, the way it should be.

I installed the med duty springs over a year ago. I don't know if they are that much more stiff than stock, mainly bc my stock springs were so saggy and worn that they were probably softer than they were originally. So in other words, I don't notice a lot more stiffness from the medium duty, at least not more than what a stock spring would be brand new.
